A few years ago, my friend and I were having a conversation and he reminded me of the importance of feeding the spirit not just the flesh. He said whatever you feed more, will be what is stronger. The more that I feed my flesh the more I am prone to make decisions or give into what my flesh wants.
When a temptation comes, I am more apt to be victorious if my spirit man is stronger than my flesh. Over the course of my life, I have won some battles and have lost some. I noticed I was victorious when I felt spiritually stronger. When I am spiritually stronger, I am usually in my word daily, praying, reading devotionals, listening to gospel music and watching sermons. However, if I am doing the bare minimum with feeding my spirit and just feeding my flesh, I am prone to operate in my flesh especially when trials/temptations come. I challenge you, try to take some time out of your day to feed your spirit, whether starting the morning with prayer/devotional or ending the day with it as well. You’ll be glad that you did.
