It’s Wellness Wednesday and of course I had to share a post with you all on a superfood that has been getting a lot of attention lately, sea moss. Sea Moss also known as irish moss is a red algae that is packed with nutrients that our body needs. Below I highlighted some of the benefits:
- It contains 92 out of the 102 minerals in our body such as iron, magnesium, copper, iodine & calcium;
- Helps clear out mucus;
- Helps with digestion;
- Helps with inflammation;
- Increases your energy levels;
- And helps with thyroid issues.
Where to purchase it & how to prepare it
To prepare sea moss it is suggested that you soak it overnight or for 24hrs. Make sure to clean the debris off of it, you can do that with water and lime. Then blend it with water, the amount of water you use depends on how much you of it you are blending, just make sure it’s enough so that it can blend well. The sea moss will turn into a gel consistency and you can store it in any container you like (I use mason jars) and put it in the fridge. It lasts about 2-3 weeks in the fridge!
